Ado-Odo Youth Summit: Ado-Odo Needs To Restored To Her Rightful Place, Says Adegbola


Youth in Ogun State especially Ado-Odo people has been appealed to, as a matter of urgency, bring back the lost glory of the community to her rightful place.

The Youth of the community also charged to imbibe unity, also take active and participatory roles in the sustainable development of their communities.

This call was made by Prince John Adegbola, during the Ado-Odo Youth Summit tagged "Promoting unity in our diversity as youths for community development" held at Ado-Odo town hall, area of the state.
Adegbola, the son of the soil who is also the convener of Ado-Odo Youth Summit in his remarks, said the purpose of the summit was to promote unity in Ado-Odo through public discussion.

To this end, the town hall of Ado-Odo was agog yesterday as youths and indigenes trooped into the town in there numbers to celebrate and welcome His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdul-lateef Adeniran Akanni, Ojikutujoye, Obaarun-Oladeinkan 1, the Oba of Ado Kingdom and the Olofin Adimula Oodua of Ado-Odo who is also the father of the day other personalities their were; the Chief Imam of Ado-Odo, Pastors and Alfas, Baales, Hon. Wale Wahid Bello, NYCN Ogun State chairman among others.
Adegbola said he was so honoured with the presence of the Olofin Adimula Oodua of Ado-Odo kingdom who happens to be the Royal father of the day.

He appealed to people in the community to come together, saying that the town needs progress and development, most importantly youths should allow peace to reign, adding that the town is divided because of so many issues that has to do with the king for so many years.

He therefore appealed to the state government to pay more attention to Ado-Odo being an accient town in the Yoruba history and needs to be restored to her rightful place.

Prof. Amokaye in his lecture titled "Charging the mindset and ethical values of Ado-Odo Indigenes and residents towards Community development" implored youths to imbibe moral values that will incline them to become positively oriented leaders of tomorrow.

He hinted that a community where it's youths, indigenes and residents are well educated, well informed, well-cultured, charismatic and focussed is likely to be socially and economically developed and prosperous.

While charging the youths and indigenes of the community, Prof Amokaye disclosed that their present mindset cannot take them to anywhere except they changed their ways of lives and values, adding that charity begins at home should be their clarion call in communal development.

According to him "We must like to work together to build a virile, enduring, peaceful and prosperous Ado-Odo Community, we must tap into our inner and outer resources, the indigenes must use their resources to develop the community by sitting industries and influence the location of industries in Ado-Odo, the rich should endeavour to support the poor and less privileged."

Prof. Bamikole Ogunleye in his remarks appealed for revival of constituted authority in the community, saying that it's only when there's constituted authority that the community can progress saying that there's need to be united with their king for the progress of the town.
