Eight Injured as Building Collapses in Ibadan, Oyo State

A two-story building under development on Tuesday crumbled in Ibadan, Oyo State, harming eight people. 



The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the structure situated on Eleyele street in Jericho region of Ibadan crumbled at about 4.pm. 

Talking with NAN, one of the bricklayers at the site, Mr. Kazeem Adebayo, said solid throwing on a segment of the structure had begun when it gave way. 

Adebayo said that a segment of the structure started to give path at about 3.30 pm and the consideration of the site engineer was attracted to the improvement. 

He affirmed that the designer requested them to proceed with work just for the structure to crumble in a matter of seconds thereafter, harming those working near the crumbled segment. 

Authority of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, Dada Abimbola, disclosed to NAN that no one kicked the bucket in the episode while the harmed had been taken to Jericho Specialist Hospital for treatment. 

Mr. Olatunji Bolu, an agent of the Architect Registration Council of Nigeria, said the body was all the while exploring the reason for the episode while the result would be made open. 

NAN reports that the team of the Oyo State Bureau of Physical Planning and Development Control had effectively fixed the structure while security operators were located keeping vigil at the site.
