#AFCON2019: Rohr Reveals ‘Headache’ Ahead of South Africa Tie
Head Coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr has admitted having a selection headache ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final against South Africa on Wednesday.
Addressing a press briefing ahead of the match, Rohr disclosed that all his 23 players were fit, after struggling with injuries and illnesses at the start of the tournament.
This means the likes of captain John Obi Mikel, Shehu Abdullahi, and Jamilu Collins are available to face Bafana Bafana.
“I have a selection headache after starting this tournament with plenty of injuries and illnesses.
“We had the full 23 players train yesterday and that gives me a selection headache for tomorrow,” Rohr said.
The German also said his squad has to adapt to Cairo, after playing their last four games in Alexandria.
“We have to adapt because it is hotter and different from Alexandria here in Cairo and we have just one day to adapt. But we will be ready,” Rohr added.
