Buhari’s Broadcast: Culprit Who Leaked Drafted Speech Arrested

The suspect who leaked the drafted speech of President Muhammadu Buhari’s broadcast has been arrested.

The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, revealed this in a piece entitled ‘Enemies Of The State’.

He said the suspect was responsible for leaking the draft speech of the President’s speech hours before his Nationwide Broadcast on COVID-19 on Monday, April 27, 2020.

The President’s spokesman noted that as the country waited for the speech to be televised at 8pm with great expectations, a purported copy of the Broadcast began to circulate on Social Media from about 4pm; adding that after assessing the document being circulated on Social Media, he discovered that it was a rogue copy.

Mr Adesina said the copy being circulated was different from the President’s broadcast, and that the suspect was eventually traced and made to answer for his action.
