The Bodude Motirolu and Soretire Family of Olujobi Community, phase 2, Itori Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State have cried out to the State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun and the Inspector General of Police (IG) Kayode Egbetokun to rescue them from hoodlums led by an alleged land grabber Yusuf Adeoba, also known as "Tiger"
The families alleged that Adeoba was also involved in the death of one of their brothers, Nafiu Raheem, who was recently beaten on their land and died yesterday.
While speaking to journalists in Abeokuta the state capital, the families also accused a police officer in Itori Police Station, DCO 2, Tirimi Bisiriyu Lawal of conniving with Adeoba to perpetrate these atrocities on the land.
Our correspondent gathered that the alleged land grabber, Adeoba has been arrested by the D 14, Zone 2, Onikan Lagos State.
According to the family "Adeoba has been arrested several times and he has also sent some of us to court, but each time is curiously released back to the society to continue his criminality.
"Our brother was beaten mercilessly by Adeoba and his thugs, and he died a painful death yesterday, We want justice for him".
"A particular police in Itori Division has been complicit in Adeoba's crimes, and we have evidence to prove it."
"In fact, a former President Olusegun Obasanjo had sought the intervention of Late Towulade Akinale Oba Olufemi Ogunleye to bring lasting solution to the crisis perpetrated by the allegedly Adeoba, but after Kabiyesi demise, Adeoba took advantage of the situation to return to the land.
"We will not allow them to take over our land again. We will fight for our rights," said the communities family.
The family also claimed that Adeoba has been using a phantom court judgment to collect ramification fees from property owners on the land.
The case according to the family is currently pending at the High Court Sagamu, awaiting judgment. However, accused Adeoba to have been spreading false information that he has already obtained a court judgment in his favor at the High Court Sagamu. The family has denied this claim, stating that there is no evidence of any court judgment and that Adeoba's claim is a phantom judgment.
The family equally expressed appreciation for the efforts of the police officers in Onikan Lagos in arresting Adeoba, therefore requested that he's taken to court for prosecution.
"We want Adeoba to be prosecuted for his crimes, and we want justice for our brother's death," family concluded.
Our correspondent attempted to verify the arrest of Yusuf Adeoba with a police officer at Onikan Police Station.
