Birthday Celebration In Style: Alhaja Aliyu Fetes Ogun Pupils With Over 300 Educational Materials

The former Senatorial Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ewekoro Local Government of Ogun State, Alhaja Nasirat Abisola Aliyu on Thursday celebrated her birthday by giving back to the community. 

Alhaja Aliyu who equally the President of Women Society and the newly Vice Chairman candidate in the local government donated school bags to over 300 students in Ewekoro Local Government of the state as parts of activities to commemorate her birthday. 

The schools who benefitted from the kind gesture included, Ewekoro Nursery And Primary School Banjoko, Methodist Nursery And Primary Ikereku, Olumo Nursery And Primary Ayeloja, Olumo Nursery And Primary School Ogunsolu, Igbore Odunmbaku Community Nursery And Primary School Ijeja Obada Oko, Owiwi Nursery And Primary School Obada Oko and St John African Church Nursery And Primary School Ayedere. 

The event equally attended by several members of the APC, association and well-wishers.

 Dignitaries at the event were Olu of Eleyele Land, HRM Oba Olu Yusuf, the Apex Leader of the party,Chief Adegbenro, Alhaji Adewale Ibrahim, (Yaro), Alhaji Agba, former commissioner, Hon. Ademosin, SA trade and investment, Mrs Yemisi Dawodu, Director Academic/School Services, Mrs Anifowoshe Olasunkami, Obada Oko Councillorship candidate Hon. Olukunle Oluyinka. 

Others are Hon Alhaja Jemilat Ogundairo Iyalode Obada Oko, former Supervisor Councillor, Hon Adewunmi Okanlawon, former SLG Ewekoro Local Government, Chief M Ola Yusuf Ekeran Owu Kingdom, Prof Balogun, Chief Iman Gbagura Hon Akinwunmi Musibau Party Secretary APC Ewekoro Local Government

In her remarks, Alhaja Aliyu expressed her gratitude to God for sparing her life to reach another milestone age, therefore said the donation was to give back to the society and make impact on the lives of School children. 

Alhaja Aliyu while addressing journalists appreciated all the well-wishers, especially the party leaders who graced the event saying that her love for children makes her to donate school materials to them. 

Her words "I choose to empower the students for my birthday because I like to give back to the community, firstly, then I love children. I love seeing children around me. When I see my grandchildren, I'm always happy. Even at times when they are going back to their various houses, I usually cry."

"I have one of them who sent me a letter this morning, age six. He wrote, 'Hi grandma, I am sorry that I could not come, but I missed you and I love you, and I hope you have a great day. Happy birthday, Nabel.' He is one of my grandsons."

"I so much love children. I love seeing children around me and you don't say because you do not have money, you can't give back to your community. No, that is not done."

"When you have something, no matter how small, you make sure you give it out to somebody else. You don't take care of anything. You can't have it all. Whatever you have, whenever you have something, you should give it out to someone else. Let them be happy. You cannot do everything, but make sure you do something out of something."

She therefore urged parents to lead good example to their children, adding that the celebration was to praise God and the school bags donation was to make impact on the lives of students who are most in need of it. 

In their separate remarks, Hon. Anifowoshe and Mrs Stella Abiade described the celebrant as a woman with great personality whose commitment and service has earned her several awards and honours. 

Mrs Abiade described Alhaja Aliyu as a respectful, humble and a giver 

According to her "I was once the President of this great Women society but with the grace of God, Alhaja Aliyu is the current president, what we have noticed about her is that she’s respectful, humble and a giver."

"She has all qualities of a responsible leader. And We pray she lives long.", Mrs Abiade concluded.
