Oyo State Nears Major Energy Milestone with 11 MW Hybrid Power Project

Oyo State is set to commission the first phase of its 11 MW Independent Power Project (IPP) on December 6, 2024. Developed through a public-private partnership with Elektron Energy, the 5 MW phase will power the long-term Light Up Oyo initiative. Once fully completed, the IPP will meet the energy needs of key state infrastructure.In parallel, progress continues on the Oyo State-Shell Nigeria Gas project, reinforcing the state’s commitment to sustainable energy solutions for future administrations.
